TPPC acquired this land to secure access into the area to Paul's Rock Beach and to construct initial entrance road. Plan is to donate this road to a Community owned company, "SARARI COASTAL ROAD LTD", (SCR) owned by the joint LELEMA COUNCIL OF CHIEFS representing the Lelepa and Mangaliliu Communities.
The landowners have surveyed the road best suited to run behind all seafront properties along the coast and SCR is in the process of applying for a negotiator certificate for the land taken up by the road. The landowners of the road will form an "association" or trust to be the Lessor granting the land lease to the community (SCR) owned entity. SCR will be managed by a Board of Directors consisting of the representative of the two Chiefs, the Landowners representative, the Chairman of the World Heritage Tourism Committee, the representative of the Ministry of Cooperatives and Ni Vanuatu Business Development and two from the Real Estate Sector. Cost of construction of the road will be from aid funds under a community project. In the meantime a "bush track" exists and will suffice for access until the road is surveyed and cleared.
This company is unique in Vanuatu in that it actually owns the rights to access the southern land from the village, as needed.
